Et ça, c'est en grande partie en raison du rôle de "leader mondial" de l'Université Laval en recherche sur l'Arctique. Alors que s'achève l'Année polaire internationale (API), Arctic Change regroupe cette semaine, au Centre des congrès de Québec, plus de 800 scientifiques, étudiants et experts de la recherche arctique en provenance de 16 pays. La tenue de l'événement à Québec démontre l'expertise et l'étendue du réseau de contacts d'Arctic Net, qui regroupe une centaine de chercheurs à partir de l'Université Laval. "Sans nous, le programme de l'API au Canada n'aurait pas eu la même gueule. La conférence en est la confirmation", soutient Louis Fortier, son directeur scientifique.
