Adam†Chowaniec and Nancy Hughes Anthony

After serving as Chair of the NCE Private Sector Advisory Board (PSAB) since 2011, Nancy Hughes Anthony has stepped down. Ms. Hughes Anthony brought extensive private-sector experience and a profound understanding of government to her role as Chair. Her invaluable and timely contributions to the NCE include leading the PSAB during a key period in the evolution of the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research program and the Business-Led NCE program. Both programs were successfully renewed during her tenure, and best practices in financial management and business planning were integrated into their review processes.

Adam Chowaniec, who was recently appointed the Vice-Chair of PSAB, has been named as the new Chair. Dr. Chowaniec has been a member of PSAB since 2010, contributing a wealth of expertise in private-sector R&D and commercialization of research. He currently serves on the boards of Startup Canada, BelAir Networks Inc. and Solantro Semiconductor, and is the past member or chair of a number of other public and private sector boards. His leadership awards include the Chairmanís Award from the Ottawa-Carleton Research Institute and the Gold Business Person of the Year award from the Ottawa Board of Trade.

PSAB will also welcome a number of new members to its ranks during the coming months. A complete list of members can be found on the Committees page.
